FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OTTAWA, ON — June, 29 2026 — Acclaimed adventure writer and explorer John Geiger will publish his eighth book, Quest, in fall 2026, telling the remarkable story of the discovery of the final ship of legendary polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton in the Labrador Sea.

As Leader of the 2024 Shackleton Quest Expedition, Geiger led the international effort that
located the historic vessel, bringing to light one of the last great mysteries of the Heroic Age of Polar Exploration. Quest offers readers an insider’s account of the expedition, the search, the technology, the history, and the enduring legacy of Shackleton, whose leadership under
extreme conditions continues to inspire people around the world.

The book is already generating significant interest. Indigo has named Quest one of the most
anticipated books of fall 2026 and is offering a 30 percent discount to readers who begin
ordering the book as of June 28, 2026. Pre-orders are available here.

Geiger is one of Canada’s most accomplished adventure authors. He has written seven
bestselling books delving into exploration, history, science, and human endurance. Quest marks his eighth published work and is expected to become a major addition to the literature of exploration and maritime discovery.

“Finding Shackleton’s final ship was the culmination of years of research, planning, and
international collaboration,” said Geiger. “Quest is the story not only of a shipwreck discovery
but also of the enduring spirit of exploration and leadership qualities that continues to drive us to seek answers in the most remote corners of our planet.”

Beyond his work as an author and explorer, Geiger is the long-serving Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Under his leadership, the Society has expanded its role as one of Canada’s leading organizations dedicated to geography, education, and
exploration. The Society publishes Canadian Geographic, Canada’s most widely read paid
